Planning a Successful Food Drive
Ready.
- Establish your team or committee
- Create a food or hunger theme
- Set your goals and plan logistics
- Determine the timeline.
Set.
- Obtain a sturdy collection of bins and establish drop off locations (copy-paper boxes work well).
- Label boxes with food drive information.
- Promote the event — company emails, newsletter, posters, etc.
- Send bags home for employees to fill up.
- Share hunger statistics with participants.
- Organize a group of volunteers to deliver the donations and tour the Foodbank.
Go.
- Contact the Foodbank before the drive ends to discuss options
- We will send you a receipt for the total pounds collected
- Make sure you share or publicize your results
Whew!.
- Review the event and set a date for next year!
