From Sam’s Club Shelves to Neighbors’ Tables

Three days a week, the West Little Rock Sam’s Club opens the door to more than just savings. Through a retail rescue partnership with Arkansas Foodbank, thousands of pounds of food — and so much more — make their way to Stocked and Ready, the U.S. Food Pantry serving central Arkansas.
“For the past few years, we’ve been picking up from Sam’s Club every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday,” said Jennifer Mondragon, manager of Stocked and Ready. “We receive all kinds of things — fresh meat, produce, bakery items. Just incredible food that allows us to serve people with dignity.”
But the impact goes beyond food. Jennifer shared that Sam’s Club has also donated unexpected essentials: mattresses, dog food, clothing, and household items — things that can make a hard moment feel a little more manageable.
“You never really know what someone is going through,” Jennifer said. “Being able to provide food and essential items truly impacts people’s lives in ways you don’t always see on the surface.”
Since partnering with Sam’s Club, Stocked and Ready has seen a significant increase in the number of people they can serve. The pantry is open twice a week and now supports close to 400 people each distribution day.
“They give us thousands and thousands of pounds of food every week,” Jennifer said. “That support has made a tremendous difference and helped us meet the needs of our community.”
This partnership is a powerful example of what happens when retailers, food banks, and local pantries work together — turning excess into access and ensuring good food reaches the people who need it most.
Right now, shoppers can be part of that impact through Fight Hunger. Spark Change.®. When you shop at Sam’s Club and support participating products, you’re helping strengthen partnerships like this one and ensuring food continues to reach Arkansas families facing hunger.
Thank you, Sam’s Club, for standing with Arkansas Foodbank and Stocked and Ready. You help spark change across our communities!
