A part of the Arkansas Foodbank, the SNAP Help Center can help you with questions about your eligibility for the SNAP Program and can assist you with applying!

In Arkansas, there are many individuals and families who are utilizing SNAP, formerly known as Food Stamps, to make sure they are getting enough food to ensure they are able to stretch their budget to meet their daily needs.

In Arkansas, many individuals and families rely on the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) (formerly known as Food Stamps) to ensure they have enough food to meet their daily needs. If you’re struggling to stretch your food budget, you may be eligible for SNAP assistance. The Arkansas Foodbank is here to help you!

Our SNAP Help Center is a dedicated team of staff and volunteers who can help you apply for SNAP. Simply start by following the button below to take our eligibility screener, or text and call 870-532-8151 to take the screener and see if you’re eligible for SNAP Benefits. After the screener is completed, you’ll be able to schedule an appointment with one of our SNAP Team Members who will help you apply over the phone!

SNAP Eligibility

General Work Requirements

For people ages 16-59

  • Required to work at least 30 hours per week.
  • OR make a minimum of $217.50 before deductions

You are EXEMPT if…

  • Already working or meet work requirements for TANF or unemployment compensation.
Able-Bodied Adults Without Dependents/ Time Limit Rules

For people ages 18-64

  • Required to work at least 80 hours a month. This can include working for your stay, volunteer, job-training, and more.

You are EXEMPT if…

  • Already working 80 hours a month.
  • Considered an “Indian”, “Urban Indian” and “California Indian”
Overall Exemptions

For both requirements, you are EXEMPT if…

  • You are disabled or already receiving SSI/Disability
  • Pregnant
  • Care for someone who can’t care for themselves or a child under 14.
  • In a substance treatment or other rehab program.
  • In school or in a job training program

  • Eligibility is based on income and assets, citizenship, and dynamics of the SNAP household: how many members are in the family, the ages of family members, etc.
  • If you have access to the Internet at home, work, or at your local library, you can apply for benefits online HERE.
  • Use this link to access the DHS online SNAP application – https://access.arkansas.gov/Learn/Home
  • To find out more about eligibility and benefits outside of our SNAP Team, you can contact Arkansas Hunger Relief Alliance’s SNAP-ARK call center at 1-833-762-7275 from 10 a.m.-3 p.m., Monday-Friday.
  • Even if you are not eligible to receive SNAP benefits, we can help you find one of our over 400 partner food pantries in your area.
