Feeding Hope – Preserving Dignity

A recent story from White River Now highlights the incredible impact of the Food Pantry Ministry at White Drive Baptist Church in Batesville. Since opening its doors, the pantry has become a vital resource for neighbors facing food insecurity, serving hundreds of households each month through a choice pantry model that allows individuals and families to select the foods they need most.

Beyond providing food, volunteers offer compassion, encouragement, prayer, and connections to additional community resources. Their commitment to serving others with dignity demonstrates the power of partnership and the difference that dedicated volunteers can make in the lives of neighbors experiencing hardship.

Arkansas Foodbank is proud to partner with agencies like White Drive Baptist Church as we work together to ensure that no one in our communities faces hunger alone. Thank you to the volunteers, donors, and community partners helping create pathways to hope and nourishment for families across Independence County and beyond.

UAMS – Family Tobacco Project

The UAMS Family Tobacco Project is recruiting rural Arkansas parents or caregivers who use tobacco or vape and have children aged 7 to 10 to participate in a study aimed at improving tobacco prevention programs for children.Participants will complete surveys, review a tobacco prevention program, and take part in discussions or interviews, with the entire process taking about three hours.

Families who fully participate can receive up to $100 in compensation. The project welcomes collaboration with community organizations, such as food pantries, to reach eligible families.
