Tyson Grants Provides Valuable Training for Foodbank Staffer
Arkansas Foodbank received a $2,500 fundraising scholarship grant from Tyson Foods to attend the Lilly Family School of Philanthropy course on Developing Major Gifts.
The grant funded Sherri Jones, the Arkansas Foodbank Annual Giving Director, the opportunity to attend their Major Gifts course in New York City, NY. We are grateful for the partnership with Tyson Foods that understands the importance of Non-Profits investing in their future.
“The Lilly Family School of Philathropy not only gave me the tools for developing and growing our Major Gifts department at the Foodbank, it also provided a networking opportunity with professionals in the same field of fundraising from across the nation and as far away as Switzerland,” said Sherri Jones, Arkansas Foodank Annual Giving Director. “This course challenged us to look at Major Gift Development in a different light by approaching our donors as investment partners rather than donors. I am extremely grateful for the experience and gained valuable education and relationships to help me further our mission at the Foodbank.”
Each year, the Arkansas Foodbank looks for community partners to help our staff attend conferences and continuing education courses. We know that investing in our staff and giving them the tools to be successful only helps create a sustainable future for our organization.
Thank you to Tyson Foods for your continued support of the Arkansas Foodbank. #Tysoncommunities
