We Must Become The Change We Want To See
This quote from Mahatma Gandhi lives on the wall of our foyer, “We must become the change we want to see.” With the heartbreaking death of George Floyd and so many before him, these words are more relevant today than ever. The Arkansas Foodbank stands with our communities of color in seeking justice and equity.
Our core values of respect, integrity and service compel us to listen, to learn and to act to eliminate racism, exclusion and oppression that continues to plague those we serve and trap them in the cycles of poverty and hunger.
There are times in history when events culminate and allow us to see ourselves in a new and different light. We have an opportunity now to personally and collectively see how we can change ourselves and our communities for the better. The Arkansas Foodbank is committed to using this moment to propel us forward in our work to eliminate hunger and provide, hope, dignity and a brighter future for all Arkansans. We encourage you to join us in the effort and become the change will all want to see.
