November Corporate Partner of the Month: Bank of America

For 20 years, Bank of America has been committed to fighting in hunger in central and southern through their partnership with Arkansas Foodbank, and this month, we honor them as our Corporate Partner of the Month! Bank of America values strengthening communities by addressing key issues that are fundamental to economic opportunity and social progress.

Magen Tune, Senior Vice President and Local Market Executive of Arkansas for Bank of America, is proud of the partnership they have created with the Foodbank because we are both working to support communities across our state by “understanding Arkansas’s needs and obstacles while developing the solutions and service to promote economic advancement.” She explains that Bank of America will continue their support of efforts to create more sustainable and successful communities.

Bank of America has been a large financial supporter of our work to end hunger in Arkansas, but their employees have also provided thousands of volunteer hours over the years. “I love how hands-on volunteering at the Foodbank can be,” Magen says, “Volunteering with the Foodbank is always a lot of fun because you work as a team and can see all you’ve accomplished at the end of the day.” We are especially grateful for Bank of America’s quick response during recent disaster efforts during the COVID-19 pandemic and after the March 31st tornadoes. Magen explains, “We recognize the work we’re doing has a direct impact on the community, which is a huge motivator.”

Through their partnership, Bank of America has supported the transportation of food across our 33-county service area by sponsoring one of our fleet trucks. Our trucks, drivers, and warehouse team play a critical role in ensuring the food we receive at the main warehouse in Little Rock can be transported to families in even the most rural parts of our state. Magen says, Bank of America is “happy to help cover the cost of delivery, maintenance, and transportation logistics because it is a service line item that is often overlooked despite being a critical component of the overall operation.”

This partnership has also been eye-opening for Magen and the team at Bank of America, shedding light on how pervasive food insecurity is in our state. She says, “this is a wide-spread issue– no matter the region, the problem exists in metropolitan and rural areas.” However, through the support of partners like Bank of America, we are providing much-needed food to families affected by food insecurity, and as Magen says, “it is making a tremendous impact on families and children across the state.”

Thanks to Bank of America for their continued support and advocacy for the mission of our organization. We cannot do the work we do without you!
