Arkansas Foodbank and THV11 Team Up to Host the 21st Annual Summer Cereal Drive

The THV11 Summer Cereal Drive is BACK and it’s in full swing! Celebrating its 21st year, Tom Brannon and the entire team at THV11are excited to see how much cereal our community can collect to feed children and families this summer.

The summer months present families that are already facing hunger with unique challenges. Without access to meals they would typically receive at school, children may not receive nutritious foods important for healthy development. The pandemic has also had a devastating effect on families who were already facing hunger, and more Arkansans than ever before are relying on the Foodbank and its partner pantries. In result – the need for food assistance is still great, and we know it’s going to take a while for these neighbors to get back on their feet.

Help us provide the most important meal of the day to children and families experiencing hunger in central and southern Arkansas by donating to the Summer Cereal Drive! You can help by making a donation – every $1 provides a box of cereal – or by purchasing healthy breakfast items like cereal that is high in fiber and protein and low in sugar and dropping it off at a local Shop & Drop location. The Summer Cereal Drive runs from now until July 8th.

Ways you can help:

  1. Register a team! It’s not too late to register your organization or business to collect cereal and monetary donations for our Summer Cereal Drive! Click here to register your team now!
  2. Donate online! This is most safe and effective way to help us reach those in need this summer. For every $1 donated, the Foodbank can provide a box of cereal. Click here to donate online now! **If you’re supporting a team, get the URL to donate directly to the team you’d like to support from the team captain.
  3. Donate in your community! This year we’ve partnered with grocery stores in Faulkner, Garland, Jefferson, Lonoke, Pulaski, and Saline counties where you can drop off boxes of cereals after you shop. Click here to see our shop & drop locations.
  4. Join us at our Community Sites! Each Tuesday and Thursday during the month of June, the Foodbank, with THV 11, Hiland Dairy, AT&T and KSSN 96 will be in different communities around central Arkansas collecting cereal. We’ve already had a great turn out in Little Rock and Cabot! Check out the list below to see where we’re headed next and join us! Cereal collected at these community sites will go directly to the children and families in those local areas.
