National Nutrition Month
March is when we highlight all that is good about one important aspect of our lifestyle — food and nutrition. National Nutrition Month is a great time to shed light on food insecurity, a topic of big concern in the United States. In Arkansas, 1 in 5 people don’t know where their next meal is coming from and making sure those meals are nutritious can be a difficult task to add when finding food.
Arkansas Foodbank is actively working on ways to increase access to nutritious foods throughout central and southern Arkansas. Thanks to our sponsor, QualChoice, we have a full Nutrition Month calendar that features all the ways you can get involved this month, including:
- Volunteering for a mobile distribution
- Volunteering at our Volunteer Operations Center
- Packing a Pantry by collecting foods from our Most Needed Items List and drop them off at the Foodbank or your local pantry
- Engaging on social media by sharing your meals, recipes, and thoughts on nutrition. Make sure to tag #AFNutritionMatters
